Shanghai Tower

上海中心大厦

Shanghai Tower is the observation-deck attraction crowning Lujiazui in Pudong, and at 632 metres it is the tallest building in China and the second tallest in the world (per CTBUH). The floor-118 deck sits at 546 metres, among the highest public viewing platforms anywhere, reached by one of the world's fastest lifts. Standard adult entry runs around 180 RMB (about USD 27), with student and child rates lower and holiday pricing a little higher. Come near closing for the city lights, or on a clear day for the widest view. It anchors any first-timer's Shanghai list.

Shanghai World Financial Center

上海环球金融中心

The Shanghai World Financial Center is a 492-metre supertall tower in Lujiazui, Pudong, known for the trapezoid aperture at its crown and the glass-floored 100th-floor observation skywalk. Its observatory floors look across at the neighbouring Shanghai Tower and Jin Mao, which gives the classic Pudong skyline view many visitors come for. Tickets run roughly 120 to 180 RMB depending on the floors included. Go about an hour before sunset on a clear day, and check the air first, since haze flattens the view.
