Xintiandi

新天地

Xintiandi is a pedestrian dining and shopping district in Huangpu, built inside restored shikumen stone-gate lane houses, a short walk from Metro Line 10's Xintiandi station and Line 1's Huangpi South Road. Walking the lanes is free; the spend is in the restaurants, cafes and bars that fill them, where Dianping averages typically land around 170 to 500 RMB per person depending on the room you pick. It reads as polished rather than hidden, which is the point: it is where people bring visiting parents, first dates and colleagues, and where an evening can start with dumplings and end on a terrace without anyone having to walk far.
