M50

M50 is a contemporary art district on Moganshan Road in Putuo District, along the south bank of Suzhou Creek. Housed in former brick factory buildings of the Chunming Woolen Mill, it now hosts over a hundred galleries, artist studios, and design spaces, with murals on the approach. Admission to the park and most galleries is free, though some exhibitions and workshops are ticketed. Most galleries are open from 10:00 to 18:00 and close on Mondays; the lanes remain accessible all day. It's a short walk from Shanghai Railway Station metro.
