Xiangyang Park
Xiangyang Park is a small, leafy public park on Huaihai Zhong Lu in Xuhui, a block from the Huaihai Road shopping strip. It was laid out in 1941 and is anchored by a hexagonal stone pavilion. Locals gather here for morning tai chi, badminton and evening ballroom dancing under the plane trees. Entry is free and the gates stay open around the clock since the fence came down. It is an easy, unhurried stop while exploring the Xuhui streets, and a good spot to watch everyday Shanghai life unfold.
