Wukang Mansion

武康大楼

Wukang Mansion is a 1924 landmark building and free photo spot at the fork of Wukang Lu and Huaihai Zhong Lu in Xuhui. Designed by architect Laszlo Hudec, its wedge shape and tiered balconies evoke New York's Flatiron Building. Upper floors are private residences, so the appeal is the facade and the ground-floor cafes, bookshops, and galleries. The standard photo spot is opposite the intersection and busy on weekends. No admission; open anytime, with costs only if you patronize the nearby cafes.
