Shanghai Oriental Art Center

Shanghai Oriental Art Center is Pudong's main concert and opera venue, at 425 Dingxiang Road near Century Park. Designed by Paul Andreu as five linked glass shells that read as an orchid from above, it opened in 2005. Inside are a concert hall seating around 1,950, an opera hall and a smaller recital hall, hosting visiting orchestras, recitals, dance and family programming. Take Metro Line 2 to Science and Technology Museum station and walk about 400 metres northwest. It is the more comfortable choice if you live in Pudong and do not fancy crossing the river on a weeknight.
