On Top of the World Tree: Ancient Americas (Shanghai Museum)

On Top of the World Tree is a major Ancient Americas exhibition at the Shanghai Museum on People's Square in Huangpu, Shanghai, open from July 2026 well into 2027. It gathers close to 3,000 objects across a 10,000 square meter space, walking you from a cornfield entrance into the worlds of Mesoamerica and the Andes. Note that during this run the museum is fully ticketed: every visitor needs a ticket, booked through the Shanghai Museum WeChat mini-program or Trip.com with ID. Hours have been extended at times, so check the mini-program for current opening times, and go on a weekday if you can.
