Guilin Park
Guilin Park is a classical Jiangnan garden in Xuhui, laid out in the 1930s around ponds, rockeries and tiled pavilions, and the city's best-known spot for osmanthus. Around a thousand osmanthus trees in more than twenty varieties fill the garden with scent through mid-to-late October, when it hosts Shanghai's annual osmanthus festival with evening lanterns and tea. Entry is free. The park reopened in July 2026 after a restoration. Reach it on Metro Line 15 to Guilin Park station; weekday mornings are calmest.
