Calypso (Jing'an Shangri-La)

Calypso is an Italian restaurant in Jing'an, set in the Jing'an Shangri-La's own freestanding glasshouse on the Kerry Centre plaza rather than inside the hotel tower, with full-wall retractable glass and a terrace that keep indoor-outdoor seating comfortable year-round. The kitchen, led by a seasoned Italian executive chef, turns out hand-rolled fresh pasta and wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. I have joined friends here for a chef-customized weekday lunch set, and every dish felt refined and thoughtfully balanced. Elegant without being stiff, it suits date nights, small gatherings, and a relaxed premium meal at around 200 to 300 RMB a head.
