South Bund Fabric Market

南外滩轻纺面料市场

South Bund Fabric Market is a four-floor tailoring and fabric market at 399 Lujiabang Road in Huangpu, a ten-minute walk from Yu Garden. Around 280 stalls sell cloth by the metre and make garments to measure: qipao, eveningwear and formal tailoring on the first floor, the suits most visitors come for on the second, and bolts and trimmings on the third. A two-piece suit runs roughly 1,000 to 9,000 RMB depending on the cloth, shirts from about 170 RMB, and the standard turnaround is two weeks with one fitting, though many stalls will rush a garment in two or three days. Shanghai's city government reported in 2026 that foreign customers make up 50 to 60 percent of the market's trade. Open daily 09:00 to 18:00; Lujiabang Road station on Metro Lines 8 and 9 is closest.
