Fu 1088

Fu 1088 is a one-Michelin-star Shanghainese restaurant in a restored 1920s villa on Zhenning Road in Changning, serving refined benbang cooking across 16 private dining rooms. The whole restaurant is private rooms, so every table is booked in advance and there is no walk-in counter; weekends and the larger rooms go weeks ahead. The kitchen works through the classics of the genre, from crab roe xiao long bao to sauteed peas with diced Yunnan ham and eight-treasure hot sauce, plated in dining rooms of dark wood, tiled floors and period light fittings. Reckon on from 400 RMB a head, with the bill climbing on set menus and pre-ordered dishes. Zhenning Road runs off Yuyuan Road, a short walk from Jiangsu Road station on Metro Lines 2 and 11.
