1929 by Guillaume Galliot is a French fine-dining restaurant on Maoming Nan Lu in Huangpu, set inside the restored 1929 Cathay Mansion, now the Jinjiang Hotel's Jinbei Building. Guillaume Galliot, the chef behind Hong Kong's three-star Caprice, has planted his first Shanghai flag here, serving French cuisine with Asian accents under towering ceilings and vintage windows: blue lobster with Shaoxing wine sauce, a king crab laksa. There are two bars, one easy daytime lounge and one intimate upstairs perch, and the room feels like the building's history got a second act. New to the 2026 Michelin selection.
