Mengxi Market

Mengxi Market is a working neighbourhood wet market near Dapuqiao in Huangpu, on Mengzi West Road, with a small café by the door. It draws cross-district shoppers for its smoked fish, poached chicken and fresh vegetables, and keeps the real bustle of a daily market rather than a tourist polish. Prices are quoted per 斤 (500g), and a bag of produce runs about ¥30 to ¥50. A good second stop once you have found your feet at a friendlier market.
